Captain Underpants!!

•November 9, 2008 • 10 Comments

Its been said that adults spend the first two years of their children’s lives trying to make them walk and talk…and the next sixteen years trying to get them to sit down and shut up. Its the same way with potty training: Most adults spend the first few years of a child’s life cheerfully discussing pee and poopies, and how important it is to learn to put your pee-pee and poo-poo in the potty like big people do. But once children have mastered the art of toilet training, they are immediately forbidden to ever talk about poop, pee, toilets, and other bathroom-related subjects again. Such things are suddenly considered rude and vulgar, are no longer rewarded with praise and cookies and juice boxes. One day you’re a superstar because you pooped in the toilet like a big boy, and the next day you’re sitting in the principal’s office because you said the word “poopy” in American History class (which, if you ask me, is the perfect place to say that word).

This nugget of wisdom comes straight from the pages of Captain Underpants and the Preposterous plight of the purple potty people, one of a series of books that to my mind, are sheer genius. These books are what gave a joy of reading to my son, for which I will always be grateful. When he started reading them aloud to me, I could tell these books were different.

The Author, Dav Pilkey, introduces his protagonists:

Meet George and Harold, a couple of wise guys. The only thing they enjoy more than playing practical jokes is creating their own comic books. And together they have created the greatest comic-book superhero in the history of their elementary school – CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS!

But George and Harold’s principal, mean old Mr. Krupp, doesn’t like their pranks or their comic books. And he’s cooked up a plan to catch George and Harold and stop their shenanigans – once and for all! This book is about what happened when that plan backfired, and Captain Underpants leaped off the page to save the day!

Captain Underpants:

Many of the things in the book are taken directly from Dav’s childhood: the practical jokes, the comics, even the cheesy animation technique called “Flip-O-Rama” (Dav and his friends used to amuse themselves by making these flip-action animated pictures in elementary school).

Dav Pilkey had reading disabilities when he was a kid. He was always discouraged by wordy texts, small type, and lengthy chapters.

“My goal with The Adventures of Captain Underpants was to invent a style which was almost identical to that of a picturebook — in a novel format. So I wrote incredibly short chapters and tried to fill each page with more pictures than words. I wanted to create a book that kids who don’t like to read would want to read.” — Dav Pilkey

IMO, Dav has stumbled upon a winning formula, and I’ve just purchased the entire set for my son. I admit I’ll be reading them too. And I’ve bookmarked his site so my son can continue the adventures after the books are done.

Letter to Obama–Change I’d LIKE to see

•November 7, 2008 • 7 Comments

Now that Obama is elected, Im seriously considering writing him a letter with suggestions of change I think this country is long overdue for….for example, I’d ask him to consider taxing corporations that outsource, and tacking on a fee for selling goods back inside the US, and forbid them from passing that cost back to us. I’d ask him to repeal all of the draconian credit penalties and loosen bankruptcy laws again. I’d ask him to repeal as many of Bush’s laws as possible (yes I know they were passed by Congress, but Bush and Co were marching lockstep with big business all along). I’d ask him to restore funding levels to social service programs, and the arts and the sciences. To restore all previous corporate oversight regulations and to re-institute laws against monopolies. Force Corporations or Companies who are a monopoly to split up, the way Ma Bell split up into Pacific Bell and Bell South and so on…I’d start with the Media, the TV networks, and the Radio Networks. I’d Hire on Karl Denninger as a consultant or make him a member of my cabinet. That man has sensible ideas. I’d restore protections to public lands, and endangered species, and forbid any drilling for oil or timber harvesting in wildlife preserves or national forests.

Last but not least, I’d make St. Patrick’s day (and Halloween!) National holidays! (come on, we need Holidays in those months!)

Here we go….

I write this in the infancy of the day, in the wee hours while most sane folk are happily asleep. I prefer this time of night actually, all is quiet and its just me, the computer and the cats. (yes, ALL the cats, for those of you that are keeping track!)

Anyway, as I said, I am sitting here contemplating the potential that this day represents…and wondering what will be greeting this Nation at day’s end (or even tomorrow morning?) Who knows, we may have a long drawn out drama like we did in the sham that was the “election” of 2000….but I hope not. I hope we get a clear answer, and I hope we get real change. This country NEEDS it. I certainly dont envy the person who has to clean up 8 years of Republican misrule. MiGAWD, but that’s gonna take some serious attention.

So, I’ll vote for Obama (and put my Hillary comment at the bottom) and cross my fingers and wait like the rest of America to see what the day brings.

(Im also voting NO on 8 and NO on 4 here in CA. sheesh. folks need to stay out of other folks’ personal lives. they just DO)

Nostalgia.

•November 2, 2008 • 10 Comments

its a gloomy, rainy day this am, usually my favorite kind of day. The only problem is, gloomy days cause me to remember the Irishman, because we were together during the late fall and winter. And it doesnt help that I dreamt about him (or things connected to him) all night long. As I write this, only an hour has passed, but already the details are fading away, leaving me with a lasting sense of nostalgia.

Breathe deep the gathering gloom,
Watch lights fade from every room.
Bedsitter people look back and lament,
Another day’s useless energy spent.

Impassioned lovers wrestle as one,
Lonely man cries for love and has none.
New mother picks up and suckles her son,
Senior citizens wish they were young.

Cold hearted orb that rules the night,
Removes the colours from our sight.
Red is gray and yellow white,
But we decide which is right.

And which is an illusion?
—-The Moody Blues

Actually, I AM glad its a gloomy, rainy day.

Samhain night

•November 1, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Tonight marks the end of the Celtic or Pagan year. Usually Im all about the trick-or-treating, but I couldnt go this year because my foot has a broken bone (I suspect). Today at work a co-worker wished me a Happy Celtic New Year’s Eve, and I realized it was true, that tonight marks the end of the Celtic calendar. She asked me if I had any wishes for the coming year? I admitted I never made any on this night, but I did go ahead and make a wish, and I will try and remember to do this every year from now on.

I thought it might be instructive to post an explanation of the Holiday:

Samhain

Celtic Festival of SamhainIrish Celtic Goddess Morrigan(Halloween) October 31 (pronounced, “sow-in”) In Ireland & the most widely accepted pronunciation in the U.S., as well. In Wales and England, commonly “sow-een.” And in Scotland, “sav-en.” Although Samhain is considered a cross quarter holiday, the cross quarter does not fall on October 31st, but when the Sun reaches 15 degrees in Scorpio. This is usually sometime in the first week of November and coincides with the Catholic Martinmas. The Celtic festival of Samhain is the end of the “summer” or “light” half of the year. (Celts divide the year into two parts, summer and winter.) It is the last of the harvest festivals and dark counterpoint to Beltaine, beginning the rule of Darkness and celebrating the Crone. It is also the first day of the new year. Celts view time as circular rather than linear, so the night is both the end of the year and the beginning, an “in-between” time. For this reason, Samhain is a night of divination and of the dead. A night where life and death, opposites but part of the same whole, are celebrated together. Samhain is also the Feast of the Dead when we honor our ancestors. It is a time for families to gather and hear the old tales. Bardic tradition says that many of these old tales can only be told at certain times, usually on the Sabbats, some with specific Sabbats. On Samhain Night, the dead return to visit with the living. It is traditional to set a place at the table for the ancestors “The Mute Supper”, and to leave food outside for the “Sidhe” (pr. shee) and the “pooka”, the fairy folk and mischievous spirits. Candles are placed in the window to help guide the ancestors “back home”. Another Samhain tradition is divination. The veil between worlds is at its thinnest, which is why the dead can cross over on this night and it’s easier to see into the future. This night is a great time for scrying and making important decisions. Samhain is a time for reflecting on your life and the Sabbat rite should include asking for help from The Crone in banishing bad habits or any other negativity (shades of New Year’s resolutions) source

Well, if I could change one thing, it would be…..well, spirit knows. Here’s hoping my wish comes true.

And all of you? what would you change?

1) The JOB front: Ive tested for 2 new positions now, Assessment Clerk, and Investigative Assistant. I got my test results for the Assessment Clerk position and I made band 2 (the top 3 bands get the first interviews). I dont know the results of my second test, but I should hear shortly. I would be happy with either job, but Investigative Assistant would be so cool….helping out in the courtroom or with investigations would be awesome!  UPDATE:  I received my test results for Investigative Assistant, Im in band 3.  Not as good as I had hoped, but I still get that interview.

2) Dang cats: My wandering O’Brien is at this moment home. Im keeping him in. The house where he’s been sleeping has been chained and posted No Tresspassing, allegedly as a safety issue. Since my effing neighbors are spying on me, I know I mustn’t go into that yard to get him. I had basically written him off, but this morning he startled me as I was watering the plants on my porch. I went and got some food and grabbed him when he came to eat it. In my head, I want to strangle this cat for causing me to worry, and for putting me in a vulnerable position with my effing neighbors. I already have Kwan Yin (Gremlin) inside, and she hates it but again, I dont want her over at the neighbors’ houses. So. All my cats are indoors. That should be fun….only one very large catbox. I suspect its about to get very full, very soon. Yay.

3) Effing neighbors: Someone left a gallon of milk on my steps the other day. If I knew for sure who left it there, I’d be returning it (especially if its the scarecrow next door to me). I think it was her husband, who seems to be staying OUT of the catfighting between us gals. I hope so anyway. Im not sure why the milk was left, was someone insinuating I dont buy milk for my son? Or was it left with good intentions? I dont know, and in the end, I took it in and froze it. But, I will make certain that the scarecrow knows I want nothing to do with her the minute she attempts to be a phony “good neighbor” again.

4) My brainy car (how could I have forgotten that??) Yes, gentle readers, its back in the shop. All seemed fine until I got home on friday night, after picking up my son from the after school program….I pulled into my driveway and put it in park and I couldnt pull the key out of the effing ignition!!! I called the dealership that last repaired my car and they said “bring it in, we’ll set you up with a rental car” So I did. and Im still driving it. A week later. Not only that, the car Im borrowing is a Toyota Yaris. 2 seater. I hate this car. Nothing is where you’d think it would be, and I dont own a car this new (my brain car is a 2004) so some of the controls are unfamiliar to me. For example, my window controls have buttons with up and down arrows on them. The Yaris doesnt. it just has a plain button. I figured out how to get the window down but I couldnt see how to get the window up!! We were on the freeway and the window is wide open blasting cold air on my son in the backseat, and he’s yelling at me to put it UP! and Im panicking trying to figure out how to get it up while keeping my eyes on the road, and I finally figured out that you pull UP on the button. Well. Go ahead and laff, I know you want to…and another thing, the master control for all the locks is on the floor between the seats. Wazzup with THAT anyway? The only good thing about the Yaris is the headlights are really bright and really light up the road. I like that a LOT. Anyway, I called the dealership a couple of days ago and they told me they broke off the ignition key inside the ignition. YAY! I now need another ignition and ignition key. The only good thing is, Im not paying for it. Nor am I paying to use the rental car. I do have to put the gas in it tho…and the gas mileage isnt as good as I thought it would be (DANG).

Ah well, such is life in the soap opera world I live in…

…If you believe THIS, then have I got some swampland for you!

Boys and Girls, apparently Al-Qaeda has endorsed John McCain for President. Thats right, I said APPARENTLY. Unfortunately, there are SOME out there in cyberland (you know you you are, right PENDEL?) who actually think this is legit! As in, “I saw it in my hometown paper so it must be true!”

So. Lets examine this shall we? just WHAT was said and by whom?

The Washington Post reports that certain Al Qaeda terrorist web sites are actually suggesting that the terrorists would prefer a McCain Presidency to an Obama one.

” ‘Al-Qaeda will have to support McCain in the coming election,’ said a commentary posted Monday on the extremist Web site al-Hesbah, which is closely linked to the terrorist group. It said the Arizona Republican would continue the ‘failing march of his predecessor,’ President Bush.”

The theory seems to be that the War on Terror caused the current economic crisis and since John McCain would continue it, Al Qaeda reasons that the economic crisis would deepen. Barack Obama would ease off on fighting Muslim terrorists, therefore the economic crisis would ease, therefore America would benefit, therefore bad for Al Qaeda.

The theory is, of course, utterly lunatic. The current economic crisis was caused by interference in the mortgage markets caused by liberals using the Community Reinvestment Act as well as horrible decisions taken by certain Wall Street types to cope with the same. Wars tend to have an economic simulative effect. The Great Depression, for instance, was not ended by anything FDR or the New Deal did, but rather by World War Two.

There is explanation that an endorsement by Al Qaeda would actually have the opposite effect:

Al Qaeda—with the willing participation of the mainstream media—may be engaging in a little reverse psychology. The Washington Post even admits this when it says, “Some terrorism experts said the support for McCain could be mere bluster by a group that may have more to fear from a McCain presidency.”

The idea goes like this. Al Qaeda more or less “endorses” John McCain, using a madcap economic theory that only an Obama supporter would find credible. The western media trumpets this “endorsement” as “proof” that Al Qaeda is actually more afraid of Barack Obama than John McCain. Enough undecided voters are pushed to the Obama column to ensure victory.

Of course even a slight examination of the premise suggests that it is the equivalent of the Soviets announcing in October 1980 that they really, really would prefer Ronald Reagan to win, since he would “wreck the economy” doing his military buildup. The reality worked out just a little differently.

Al Qaeda and the people who analyze the terrorist group suggest that a Al Qaeda warning about new terrorist attacks in October, 2004 may have placed President Bush over the top in his race against John Kerry. Al Qaeda seems to be trying to pull something like that in reverse. And the media is trying to help it.

Source:On Al-Qaeda Web Sites, Joy Over U.S. Crisis, Support for McCain, Joby Warrick and Karen DeYoung, Washington Post, October 22, 2008

Another article:

Which Candidate is Al Qaeda’s Choice?

The McCain campaign aggressively pushed back against stories in the Washington Post and the Associated Press about a commentary posted on the website al-Hesbah, which some have suggested is linked to al Qaeda, calling for Al Qaeda supporters to help elect Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.

“Al Qaeda will have to support McCain in the coming election,” the commenter said, arguing that McCain would continued the “failing march of his predecessor, Bush.”

The poster, Muhammad Haafid — who experts say is said to NOT have “a direct affiliation with Al Qaeda plans or knowledge of its operations” — also said that a terrorist strike against the U.S. “will push the Americans deliberately to vote for McCain so that he takes revenge for them against al-Qaeda. Al Qaeda then will succeed in exhausting America.”

Adam Raisman, a senior analyst for the Site Intelligence Group, which monitors the al-Hesbah website, told the Post that “The idea in the jihadist forums is that McCain would be a faithful ‘son of Bush’ — someone they see as a jingoist and a war hawk. They think that, to succeed in a war of attrition, they need a leader in Washington like McCain.”

“If one takes one individual Islamist blogger from one terrorist Islamist blog, who has come up with this statement that it would be good to have McCain in the White House, I think one has to consider the motives,” responded former CIA director Jim Woolsey, a McCain supporter.

On a conference call arranged by the McCain campaign, Woolsey said that Haafid “knows that the endorsement of people like him is a kiss of death, figuratively and literally, so it seems to me it’s pretty clear that by making this statement that he wants, that it would be a good thing for McCain to be President, he is clearly trying to damage John McCain, not speaking from his heart. So I must say I think the overall structure of the debate as one analyzes it coming out of this story taken at face value is quite remarkable.”

More importantly, Woolsey said, McCain as one of the original proponents of the surge strategy in Iraq has been responsible for crippling Al Qaeda.

“On important aspect of the change in strategy was to link up with the Sunnis and the Awakening Movement in the Anbar Province and to cooperate in going after Al Qaeda in Iraq,” Woolsey said. “In posting after posting, it was clear from al-Qaeda itself and from Bin Laden’s statements and Zawahiri’s statements that this link up which John McCain was essentially the father of, this change in strategy, was what was causing al-Qaeda in Iraq, which Al Qaeda put at right in front of their struggle, the biggest difficulty and the biggest problem. It was killing Al Qaeda in Iraq, leaders that drew the biggest concern from Al Qaeda and from really all of the Islamists.”

Concluded the former CIA director: “John McCain was responsible as much as anyone in the country for that turn around. It is ridiculous to believe that in its heart of hearts Al Qaeda wants John McCain to be the President. And it is ludicrous.”

McCain’s senior foreign policy adviser Randy Scheunemann said, “if we are going to talk about who had got support from terrorist groups in this election I am going to read some quotes, I am not going to characterize them, I will let others judge whether the amount of expression of support or opposition whether they amount to expressions of endorsement or opposition.

“First, this week a Hamas spokesman, Ahmed Yousef, said quote, ‘I do believe Mr. Biden is a great man and we do count on him as also a good partner with Mr. Obama to put the right policy regarding how to handle problems in the region. It is good for America to have the new administration with someone like Mr. Obama and his vision for change. I do believe actually with this administration, the Bush administration, we don’t have luck in ending our isolation. We as Palestinians are thinking we might have better luck with the new administration if Obama wins the election. I do believe that he will change American foreign policy in the way they are handling the Middle East.’

Scheunemann continued, “Second, last month when Iranian President Ahmadinejad was in the United States, he was asked by a student whether he supports Democratic nominee Barack Obama or Republican John McCain. This is what president Ahmadinejad, who has called for the extinction of Israel has said, quote, ‘the American government 28 years ago decided to cut its own ties with Iran. We do prefer to have relations whereas one of the candidates in this election would prefer that.’ I think everybody on this call understands which candidate for president has endorsed unconditional meetings with president Ahmadinejad.

“Three, from Muammar Qaddafi of Libya, he said talking about Obama ‘all the people in the Arab and Islamic world and in Africa applauded this man. They welcomed him and prayed for him and for his success and they may have even been involved in legitimate contribution campaign to enable him to win the American presidency.'”

The McCain adviser then seemed to suggest that Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., would clearly be Al Qaeda’s choice.

“Only Senator Obama has advocated withdrawal and surrender to Al Qaeda in Iraq when Al Qaeda was at the peak of its power,” he said. “Senator Obama advocated a withdrawal and voted against funding for our troops while we were engaged in fighting with Al Qaeda in early 2007, when Al Qaeda was at the peak of its power.”

The Obama campaign had no comment about Haafid’s posting.

Well, boys and girls, maybe Chicken Little is right and the sky really IS falling. And I really CAN get you a great deal on swampland too. Step right UP.

Obama birth cert case dismissed, Berg to appeal to Supremes

•October 27, 2008 • Leave a Comment

UPDATE: Phil Berg’s case challenging Obama to produce a “vault copy” of his birth cert has been thrown out by a PA Judge. Berg announced he is immediately appealing to the US Supreme Court. The Judge in this case, characterized it as “ridiculous” and “patently false.”

This from Berg’s own site:

Philip J. Berg is Appealing to the U.S. Supreme Court as Lawsuit Against Obama Dismissed from Philadelphia Federal Court

For Immediate Release: – 10/25/08 – Contact Info at end.

UPDATE: Ruling attached at end. It’s a really poor copy, but it is all we have for the moment. Willl put up a better copy when we get one.

(Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania – 10/25/08) – Philip J. Berg, Esquire, the Attorney who filed suit against Barack H. Obama challenging Senator Obama’s lack of “qualifications” to serve as President of the United States, announced today that he is immediately appealing the dismissal of his case to the United States Supreme Court. The case is Berg v. Obama, No. 08-cv-04083.

Berg said, “I am totally disappointed by Judge Surrick’s decision and, for all citizens of the United States, I am immediately appealing to the U.S. Supreme Court.

This is a question of who has standing to uphold our Constitution. If I don’t have standing, if you don’t have standing, if your neighbor doesn’t have standing to question the eligibility of an individual to be President of the United States – the Commander-in-Chief, the most powerful person in the world – then who does?

So, anyone can just claim to be eligible for congress or the presidency without having their legal status, age or citizenship questioned.

According to Judge Surrick, we the people have no right to police the eligibility requirements under the U.S. Constitution.

What happened to ‘…Government of the people, by the people, for the people,…’ Abraham Lincoln in his Gettysburg Address 1863.

We must legally prevent Obama, the unqualified candidate, from taking the Office of the Presidency of the United States,” Berg said.

Our website obamacrimes.com now has 71.8 + million hits. We are urging all to spread the word of our website – and forward to your local newspapers and radio and TV stations.

Berg again stressed his position regarding the urgency of this case as, “we” the people, are heading to a “Constitutional Crisis” if this case is not resolved forthwith.

I cant say Im surprised…I dont see Justice prevailing much any more….Still, sometimes it only takes ONE person to change the world….who knows? Maybe Berg is that person?

Obama refuses to provide authentic birth certificate in court

•October 25, 2008 • 41 Comments

Is he or isnt he? A Natural born citizen that is…Obama’s Kenyan grandmother says he was born in Kenya, so does his Kenyan half sister. Obama had the chance to put the rumors to rest in Court today in Pennsylvania, but chose to let the Federally mandated deadline (for producing evidence) expire. WHY??

A Pennsylvania lawsuit alleging that Barack Obama is not a “natural-born citizen” of the United States took an unusual twist this week, after a federally mandated deadline requiring Obama’s lawyers to produce a “vault” copy of his birth certificate expired with no response from Obama or his lawyers.

The lawsuit, filed by former Pennsylvania Deputy Attorney General Philip J. Berg — a self-avowed supporter of Hillary Clinton — alleges that Barack Obama was born in Kenya and is thus “ineligible” to run for president of the United States. It demands that Obama’s lawyers produce a copy of his original birth certificate to prove that he is a natural-born U.S. citizen.

Berg’s suit and allegations have set off a wave of Internet buzz and rumors, though Obama could easily have put the matter to rest by providing the federal court with the basic documentation proving he is eligible to take the oath of a president. But Obama has apparently decided to deny the court and the public that documentation.

By failing to respond to the Request for Admissions and Request for the Production of Documents within 30 days, Obama has “admitted” that he was born in Kenya, Berg stated this week in new court filings.

Berg released a long list of “admissions” he submitted to Obama’s lawyers on Sept. 15, and asked that they produce documents relating to Obama’s place of birth and citizenship.

Instead of responding, lawyers for Obama and the DNC asked the court to dismiss the case. But Judge R. Barclay Surrick of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania has issued no ruling in the case that would have given Obama’s lawyers more time.

“There are lots of legal ways to stonewall,” a well-placed Republican attorney told Newsmax, who was not authorized to comment officially on the case. “But failing to respond is not one of them.”

“The first thing they teach you in law school,” he added, “is don’t put a complaint like this in a drawer. That’s how a nuisance case can become a problem.”

The 30-day deadline for defendants to comply with a discovery request is set forth in the Federal Rules of Civil Procedures.

“It all comes down to the fact that there’s nothing from the other side,” Berg said after he filed a motion on Thursday for summary judgment.

“The admissions are there. By not filing the answers or objections, the defense has admitted everything. [Obama] admits he was born in Kenya. He admits he was adopted in Indonesia. He admits that the documentation posted online is a phony. And he admits that he is constitutionally ineligible to serve as president of the United States.”

In a contentious case, lawyers on both sides will haggle over the production of documents, and will frequently go beyond the deadlines, several lawyers told Newsmax.

“The rules are more often complied with in the breech rather than the observance,” a senior trial attorney who has close ties to the Democrat Party, but is not involved in the current case, told Newsmax.

“Lawyers frequently do not return telephone calls or meet discovery deadlines because of sheer inadvertence. Therefore, we do not consider a failure to respond as a ‘violation,’” he said.

Allegations surrounding Obama’s place of birth have been swirling for months. Earlier this year, the Obama campaign sought to put down the rumors by making available a computer-generated Certification of Live Birth, issued in 2007 by the State of Hawaii. [See the Certification of Live Birth — Click Here.]

Respected conservative blogger Ed Morrissey called the Berg lawsuit a “conspiracy theory” that had been put to rest by the Obama campaign over the summer but ”has arisen like a zombie yet again to suck the credibility out of the conservative blogosphere.”

However, the 2007 document produced by the Obama campaign omits key information that normally appears on birth certificates in the United States, including the name of the hospital where he was born, the size and weight of the baby, and sometimes the name of the doctor who delivered him.

In addition, the critics of the 2007 document note that Obama’s father is described as “African,” a term used today. The formal language in official documents at the time — 1961 — would have identified his race as “Negro” or “Colored.”

The Web site snarkybytes.com has produced a vault copy of a Hawaii Certificate of Live Birth from 1963, issued by the Hawaii Department of Health. [See the vault copy — Click Here.]

In addition to naming the hospital and more details about the baby, the 1963 vault copy also includes the “usual residence of the mother,” and the “usual occupation” of the father. None of this information appears on the 2007 Live Birth certificate produced by the Obama campaign.

Berg has been a perennial political candidate in Pennsylvania, having run in Democrat primaries for attorney general, lieutenant governor, governor, and other offices without success. He served as deputy attorney general of the State of Pennsylvania from 1972-1980.

His credibility was tarnished by work he did for the far-left “9/11 for the Truth” campaign, which alleged in a federal lawsuit that the collapse of the twin towers in New York was caused by “controlled demolition” ordered by the president of the United States.

Nevertheless, in recent weeks, lawsuits have been filed in seven additional states demanding that Barack Obama produce an original vault copy of his birth certificate, to dispel the rumors that he is not a natural-born United States citizen.

The latest suits have been filed in state and federal courts in Hawaii, Washington, California, Florida, Georgia, New York, and Connecticut to compel Obama to release his birth records.

Lawsuits in Washington and Georgia are seeking state superior courts to force the states’ secretary of state, as the chief state elections officer, to require Obama to produce original birth records from Hawaii, or else decertify him as a candidate for the presidency.

Ironically, Obama mentions his birth certificate in passing on Page 26 of his 1995 memoir, “Dreams of My Father.” “I discovered this article, folded away among my birth certificate and old vaccination forms, when I was in high school,” he wrote.

Lawyers for Obama and the DNC did not return calls for comment on the current status of the case, or explain why the Obama campaign did not simply put to rest the whole controversy by releasing the birth certificate that Obama apparently cherished as a teenager.

In the past, questions about Sen. John McCain’s legal status have arisen. McCain was born in the Panama Canal Zone at a U.S. Army hospital. McCain had legal experts vet his constitutional qualifications, and he also disclosed a copy of his birth certificate.

What I want to know is, if he’s got the goods, why not produce it? I know, he is probably saying he already did, but from what Ive read, the birth certificate he submitted was actually a forged version of his sister’s birth certificate. I know, its not wise to believe everything you read, but sometimes the truth actually IS stranger than fiction. Also, why would his Kenyan Grandmother lie? I mean she is so proud of him, you’d think she’d realize that one of the requirements to be a president of the US is to be Naturally born. Therefore, by insisting he was actually born in Kenya, she is in fact undermining his claim.

Anyway, this will be interesting to watch…

by the way, Ive made no secret of the fact I would have preferred Hilary. I still believe she is the better candidate. This birth cert thing is just PART of my issue with Obama, but if he is the only hope for choice (women’s reproductive choice) then Im still willing to consider voting for him.

Mad Face–Also Vomit Smiley (effing Neighbors)

•October 22, 2008 • 3 Comments

I just got into it earlier with my ASSHAT neighbor who is feeding my cats.  Oh and my other ASSHAT neighbor who is the neighborhood busybody too.  I went over to ask my one neighbor to stop feeding my cats because they have no reason to come home if she does that, and she said she had arranged to feed HER neighbor’s cat until she came back to get her hopefully by this weekend.  My son piped up and said MOM!  tell her to quit feeding our cat!  To which she made some smart assed answer so I said “that was real sensitive Suzie, he’s upset over his cat and thats how you act”  And she got all huffy and said it wasnt her fault, and I said of course it was, if she hadnt started feeding my cats in her yard, I wouldnt have to go over there to get them…THEN, the horsefaced wench who lives next door to me had to butt her big nose in and add her 2cents and me being me, we all 3 ended up arguing in the street.  I hate my neighbors.
