Facebook Flair!
as usual, I am so behind on what is popular….however I do have a knack for staying close to people who are so much more with it than I am. Case in point:
FACEBOOK FLAIR!!!!!
I knew there was something up when I saw the cute buttons on the Batman’s site. So, I duly googled “buttons” “free button maker” and various permutations, only to be sadly disappointed. Finally, I resorted to what I should have done in the first place: just freaking ASK for cripes sake!! Turns out, the buttons are an application found on FACEBOOK.
I admit, my relationship with FACEBOOK is a love/hate one. I love the apps, I love the features, but I hate their rules. Like the rule that says you have to register with a real name. Boys and Girlz, I HATE my real name. I wish with all my heart I could be called Irishgrl. that is who I AM. But alas, FACEBOOK said NO. so, I avoided FACEBOOK for quite some time….until an old friend invited me, and I decided to try again. This time, I circumvented the real name requirement by capitalizing on an old Irish Slogan, Erin Go Bragh (which has been reported to mean many things but last time I checked meant Ireland Forever) Wiki says this:
Erin Go Bragh (also sometimes: Erin Go Braugh) is the Anglicization of a Gaelic phrase used to express allegiance to Ireland. It is most often translated as “Ireland Forever”
So, I patted myself on the back for having fooled the stupid FACEBOOK bot and for maintaining my allegiance to my Motherland. Alright, thats the beginning, the Genesis if you will, of my sojourn on FACEBOOK. Tonight, a fellow blogger pointed me in the direction of what I feel to be the most AWESOME online application around, FLAIR! With FLAIR, you can take your own personal photos (or public domain images) and put them on an online button to share with other FACEBOOK users. I now have 19 buttons, and counting. Here are some of them…
